Timothy G. Murray M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.S

After receiving a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 1981 , Dr. Murray received his M.D. from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1985 and his M.B.A. from the University of Miami in 2005. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He was voted one of America's Top Doctors for Cancer in 2011.

Dr. Murray currently treats patients at the Murray Ocular Oncology and Retina offices in Coral Gables, Florida. Before leaving to found his own practice, he was a Tenured Professor of Ophthalmology and Radiation Oncology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he specialized in Medical and Surgical Retina and Ocular Oncology and was voted Teacher of the year.

Dr. Murray is an Associate Editor at Lasers in Medical Science and a Manuscript Reviewer for the American Journal of Ophthalmology: Archives of Ophthalmology: Current Opinion in Ophthalmology: Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science: Ophthalmology: Retina: and Retinal Physician. He serves on committees at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Collaborative Ocular Melanoma Study, the NIH/NEI, NIH/NCI, the American Society of Retinal Specialists and the Retina Society. Dr. Murray has also been the principal investigator for several NIH funded research studies.

Dr. Murray has over 20 years experience in research, teaching and clinical care. He is an internationally recognized eye cancer specialist and has published 23 book chapters and monographs, over 290 juried or refereed journal articles and exhibitions, and more than 160 published abstracts (view a full list of Dr. Murray’s publications).

Aaron S. Gold O.D.

After receiving a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Florida and a B.S. in Vision Science from Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Gold earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Gold is a published author who worked and taught within the ocular oncology clinic at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute for several years, and was involved in mentoring optometry students and residents, before leaving to help found Murray Ocular Oncology and Retina.

At Murray Ocular Oncology and Retina, Dr. Gold works alongside Dr. Murray in clinic and offers primary optometric care. He is trained in the use and interpretation of Ocular Echography, Fundus Photography, OCT, GDx, HRT, Humphrey Visual Field, Pachymetry, QuantifEye (Macular Pigment density test), and Corneal Topography (Medmont and Humphrey).

Dr. Gold’s goal is to practice the science and art of optometry, emphasizing quality care and excellent patient service at all times.

Ernesto Bermudez B.B.A., O.D.

After receiving a bachelor in Business Administration Dr. Bermudez earned his O.D in the Optometry School of Venezuela. Following this he spent six years learning and practising ophthalmic ultrasound at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, where he became an expert in using ultrasound techniques for the differentiation and diagnosis of ocular tumors. He was the vicepresident of Hospital El Rosario in Venezuela before leaving to join Murray Ocular Oncoloy and Retina.

As the International Director at Murray Ocular Oncology and Retina, Dr. Bermudez provides help for people living within and outside of the United States. He has traveled around South America and Europe trying to educate people with the right diagnoses and treatment for ocular oncology and retinal diseases. He is highly skilled in diagnostic and differentiation of ocular oncology and intraocular pathology with the use and interpretation of Ocular Echography, he also has been trained in, Fundus Photography, GDx, HRT, Humphrey, OCT, Pachymetry, QuantifEye (Macular Pigment density test), and Topography (Medmont and Humphrey). Dr. Bermudez's goal is to provide quality care and excellent patient service.
